Pres. Ian Bremmer of Eurasia Group told Fareed Zakaria of CNN on Sun. that there are only two countries that have full alignment with the U.S. in terms of its China policy. Canada and Mexico have absolutely no choice due to the level of economic integration with the U.S., he said, but no other countries would accept this, because they want exposure to what will be the largest global market by 2030. Although Bremmer gave an interview to HN in Dec. 2020, the CR and NÚKIB clearly aren't on his radar. House Speaker Markéta Pekarová Adamová met with Taiwan's president shortly before the U.S. speaker, Kevin McCarthy, did, and the CR will now officially list China (and Russia) among its biggest security threats. French Pres. Emmanuel Macron told Politico on his way back from China last week that Europe must reduce its dependency on the U.S. and avoid getting dragged into a confrontation between the U.S. and China over Taiwan. Macron didn't mention the CR, but he surely has it on his radar. [ Czech Republic United States GPS cybersecurity cyber-security ]
