When Pres. Miroslav Jansta of the ČUS sports union, another ČUS official and ČUS itself were charged with sports-subsidy fraud on July 25, 2017, the PM was Bohuslav Sobotka of ČSSD, his "external brain" was lobbyist Radek Pokorný, his interior minister was Milan Chovanec, his education minister was Kateřina Valachová, Chovanec's adviser was Partner Miloš Růžička of Bison & Rose public-relations agency, Czech TV's deputy news editor was František Lutonský (husband of Jana Lutonská of Bison & Rose), and Valachová was one of ČT's favorite guests. Andrej Babiš indicated that the government was being run then by Pokorný and Růžička, and Jansta told Týden that Bison & Rose had Valachová on a leash. Jansta told Právo today that if anyone should have been charged in the sports-subsidy matter, it was Valachová. Jansta and ČUS were exonerated last week, subject to appeal. An independent, unbiased Czech TV would investigate its own role in getting him charged. [ Czech Republic prime minister lawyer Television ]
