The way the STAN mayors' group "screwed" its coalition partner in the election campaign, to use the term of the Pirates themselves, and is now prepared to do it again by entering the Fiala government without its partner, has accelerated a process that would have crippled the new government anyway. Pirates Chair Ivan Bartoš declared that if a new government is formed, the main promise to voters of stripping Andrej Babiš of power will have been achieved. By saying this, he indirectly admitted that his party's own usefulness to Spolu and STAN has expired. MEP Mikuláš Peksa of the Pirates told Týdeník Echo that the Pirates are the "only Western European party in this post-Communist country.
