Czech children who return to school, if they are allowed to do so, will need to be tested on a regular basis, but they won't need one of the EU's planned new "green digital certificates" to travel. According to Vice Pres. Věra Jourová of the EU Commission, children are not even part of the equation in talks on a covid passport, because they are not a risk group. This isn't the only inconsistency with regard to the proposed new travel documents. Commission Pres. Ursula von der Leyen said in Jan. that there is no answer to the question of whether vaccination inhibits transmission of the virus by the vaccinated person. Yesterday she acted as though this were no longer an issue. The new certificates should help "reinstate the freedom of movement in a safe, responsible and trusted manner," she said. Is travel suddenly more important to the Commission than passenger health? More likely, this is just another way for politicians to dangle hope at people in order to keep them from rebelling.
