Final Word from Thursday, September 26, 2013

In his joint press briefing with PM Jiří Rusnok on Tues., Pres. Miloš Zeman spoke of a law firm that worked for both the state in selling OKD's 44,000 apartments to Zdeněk Bakala and for Bakala at the same time. Zeman kept mum about the name of the law firm, but for those in the know, it was clearly Pokorný, Wagner. This was another of Zeman's indirect attacks on Bohuslav Sobotka, who, as finance minister, was in charge of the final privatization of OKD. Radek Pokorný, a close friend of Sobotka's, has been one of the main architects of Bakala's strategy of convincing the Czech population that money stolen by people around Václav Havel is cleaner than money stolen by people around Václav Klaus. Bakala's investments into Economia, Centrum, the Havel Library, Aspen Institute, etc., have evidently had this as their objective. Now, little by little, Zeman is exploding the myth. Poor VH will be turning in his grave. [Czech Republic Havellian Klausian RPG Byty NWR Holdings]
