Let's talk numbers. Small numbers. The first is Kč 450,000.
That's how much Topsearch wanted for finding a new CEO of DP
Praha transit company. The amount was deemed too small to be
serious, and Mayor Bohuslav Svoboda canceled the search. He
hired Vladimír Lich instead. The second number is Kč 160,000.
That's how much Lich will pay his old employer, A.T. Kearney, to
catalog and review all of DPP's supply contracts (see HN). The
third number is Kč 195,000. It's the maximum HZ Consult can
earn on the audit at Budvar (see Richard Hunt's blog). The fourth
number is Kč 60,000. That's the commission, according to MFD,
that Médea earned on a Kč 60m media-buying contract with Lesy
ČR. Of all these numbers, the only one that seems reasonable
given the amount of work is the one that was rejected.
Apparently, the new trend in public contracts is "small is
beautiful."[Czech Republic forensic AT]
