Final Word from Wednesday, April 9, 2025
ANO Chair Andrej Babiš was the worst PM, according to a Spolu campaign site, and we all see that he doesn't care about our security. Current PM Petr Fiala took the message international by telling the Financial Times that Babiš is helping Russia. These are strong disparagements, but the internet is full of others that attack Babiš's very character: He's an uneducated liar and populist who has no opinions of his own and only got where he is because of the money he stole before the revolution and after. He uses StB practices, keeps files on people and is a walking conflict of interest. Such slurs are old hat in an election campaign in 2025 and won't sway many voters, no matter how often they're repeated. But what ex-Dep. Foreign Min. Petr Drulák said at a regime change conference on Sat. is different. He said that it doesn't matter if you vote for Fiala or Babiš because the result will be just as bad in either case. For a sizeable group of opposition voters, that's the worst thing you can say about Babiš. [ Czech Republic ODS insults disparage ]
