The World Economic Forum, Rockefeller Foundation, airlines and dozens of other corporations have thrown their weight behind the CommonPass so that "you can safely return to travel and life." It uses technology and health data to "ensure travelers are not bringing the virus across borders." Yet everyone knows the reality of corona tests. If they are accurate at all, the results are only valid for that precise moment. And covid vaccines are not even a guarantee against transmission of the disease. So what is the utility of a covid pass? MP Marek Benda of ODS is one of the few Czech politicians willing to ask this question. He told Czech TV last night that it makes no sense to speak about benefits for vaccinated people if the possibility exists that they remain a threat to others. We addressed this in our Friday analysis and concluded that the much-vaunted covid passes could be a smokescreen.
