Until two weeks ago, ANO's candidate for Prague mayor was a little-known politician, Patrik Nacher, who could boast that he had fought for years on the side of consumers against financial sharks. He was dumped by Andrej Babiš in favor of a little-known businessman, Petr Stuchlík, who must defend against allegations that he is one of these financial sharks. He's an investor in Fair Credit consumer lender, whose annual interest rate is 200%. Andrej Kiska was able to win the presidency in Slovakia four years ago with such a background, but times have changed. Nearly 1m Czechs are under a seizure order, and stories of the misery and blight this brings are now common in the media. A skilful politician would recognize this and sever all ties immediately to any such purveyor of poverty. Not the neophyte Stuchlík.
