We live in the era of destruction, during which the Western world is systematically tearing down many of the monuments of our civilization built over generations, some of which were good and some bad. Among the many institutions being destroyed are constitutions. Khizr Khan, the father of a fallen U.S. soldier, held up the U.S. Constitution and used it to shame Donald Trump for his position on denying Muslims entry to the U.S. Think what you may of Trump's policy, but it has nothing to do with the Constitution. The Khans had no constitutional right to immigrate to the U.S. when they did. The U.S. Constitution does not apply to non-resident non-citizens, and any foreigner can be denied entry. In the CR, Miloš Zeman wants to deport asylum-seekers whose applications are denied, but he knows that international agreements supersede the Constitution and in many cases make deportation impossible. A constitution that puts the rights of everyone in the world on the same level is a meaningless piece of paper. This is where the Western world is headed.
