It was only a matter of time before the Greens' strategy came under close scrutiny. Articles are now multiplying that question whether Martin Bursík is choosing the right side of the fence by going with ODS/KDU and refusing to enter or support a ČSSD government backed by the Communists. When Bursík comes away empty-handed from the inevitable ODS-ČSSD backroom deal, will he have served his 6% of the electorate well? He might have extended his own 15 minutes of fame, but what else? Bursík could agree to work with ČSSD under very specific conditions and make a name for himself by walking away at the first sign of extra-contractual collaboration between ČSSD and the Communists. This is exactly what KDU-ČSL and US-DEU didn't have the guts to do in the last year of the ČSSD government. And this is one reason why those two parties are losing their political relevance.[Czech Republic Chairman Green Party Christian Democrats Social Democrats elections coalition]
