Federal agent Jack Bauer is back. The second season of the popular anti-terrorist drama "24" returns to TV Nova on Mon. More than 1m Czechs will be glued to their sets, but a few "24" fans will be able to sit it out, because they've already seen the complete second season on German or British television. Some have even seen the third season. Tougher competition in nearby TV markets means that popular shows such as "24," "Six Feet Under," "The Shield" and "Sex and the City" can be seen long before Czech stations get around to them. Of course it means that viewers have to give up their comfortable Czech dubbing. So far, foreign-language broadcasts have presented no competition to local stations, but as the CR integrates into the EU, it would only be logical for more European-minded Czechs to start looking abroad for up-to-the-minute TV entertainment.
