Parliament's bill-cookers voted down a measure yesterday that would have tightened TV Nova's near-monopoly on the TV advertising market. Until yesterday, it looked almost certain to pass. Even Czech TV was in favor of it. HN printed a revealing article yesterday about the bill-baking process and took credit for the turn of events, but lobbying by the Branded Goods Association no doubt played a role too. TV Nova apparently noticed. It wondered suggestively in its evening news last night what possibly could have caused so many MPs to change their mind so abruptly?
