Final Word from Wednesday, October 1, 2014
Andrej Babiš has seen through Bohuslav Sobotka's attempt to maneuver Klára Dostálová into the post of development minister and will announce a "surprise" candidate today. It will no doubt be a shocker for ANO as well, because Babiš keeps such decisions close to his chest. Perhaps he shares them with Radmila Kleslová, who is known for being his trusted adviser and an ex-StB agent. Her role in ANO is starting to mimic that of Tomáš Hrdlička in ODS under previous governments. He, too, was omnipresent but never seen. Euro reported that ANO's Prague candidates (Adriana Krnáčová, Eliška Kaplická, Patrik Nacher) wanted Babiš to sideline her, but he told them he would sack them first. Anyone of such value to Babiš must be a superb candidate to oversee EU funds, esp. since the pesky question of a minister needing a clean lustration report has now been resolved to President Miloš Zeman's satisfaction.
