PM Bohuslav Sobotka said in Blesk on Sat. that Pres. Miloš Zeman had started to declare that the resignation of the PM means only the resignation of the PM, not of the entire cabinet. Zeman had in fact never said this publicly (as we wrote yesterday), but many analysts and journalists, esp. those on the public stations, eagerly repeated this claim by Sobotka without bothering to verify it. This shows either their laziness or their lack of objectivity. However, they were saved by the bell yesterday thanks to Zeman himself. He said in Liberec that the entire cabinet falls in such a case only if it has voted to resign. Why did Zeman say this and thereby lend credence to claims that he intended to violate the Constitution? Probably for the same reason he conducted the bizarre mock resignation ceremony at the Castle. He is losing touch with reality and needs an intervention. His loved ones and coworkers need to convince him to improve his behavior or to prepare for retirement. [Czech Republic region dismissal]
